The Foundation

Joint Scientific Advisory Board

The Foundation operates a Joint Scientific Advisory Board, in collaboration with the Medical Research Council, which is responsible for reviewing and supporting candidate research projects for funding allocations. Applications for support are assessed using MRC accreditation protocols. This ensures that only the best projects, which conform to the highest possible academic, ethical and safety standards and offer the greatest hope of delivering patient benefit rapidly are progressed.

The Foundation also works in close consultation with existing stem cell networks, legislators, researchers and doctors, together with existing funders of research, to ensure the suitability of our selected research projects.
