Provisional Expression of Interest Form

The UKSCF/MRC Joint Scientific Advisory Board will consider applications whose goals are to contribute enabling technologies and/or translational research in stem cells which could ultimately lead to a phase III clinical trial. The definition of 'enabling technology' or 'translational' research has been left open, as a range of studies could be defined under these terms, for example use of stem cells in animal models, expansion of cells or routes of delivery of stem cells.

Candidates should clearly explain in the form below how the proposed study will contribute to the development of a phase III trial. Proposals should take forward stem cell research to the clinical setting – applications that focus on basic aspects, such as differentiation of stem cells, should be submitted to existing funding mechanisms.

It is recommended that applicants contact one of the following UKSCF representatives to discuss research criteria before commencing their application.

To apply for funding support please complete the Provisional Expression of Interest Form below. The following application must be completed and submitted in one sitting and as a result we advise candidates to finalise text with co-authors before entry.

Applicants whose preliminary expressions of interest fall clearly into the ‘enabling‘ and/or ‘translational’ categories will be invited to make a Full Application to the Scientific Advisory Board.
